XVIII Young Bohemia Prague Festival

Youngbohemia Prague festival is one of the most culturally diverse and enjoyable European events for young people aged 8-26 years. Now in its 18th year it enjoys worldwide reputation.

The festival gives participants a chance to showcase their talent and skill, while also allowing choirs and orchestras to enjoy the beauty of Prague, one of the most attractive cities in Central Europe. The festival gives choirs and orchestras the opportunity to make new friends from all over the world and to appreciate each others culture.

There is a thousand of young people from all over the world at this event every year. Your choir or orchestra can be part of this city’s proud musical heritage when you participate in the youngbohemia prague festival.

You can choose to participate in the competition category or simply take part in the non-competitive festival category. Whatever category you choose, we will work with you to ensure that the youngbohemia festival is great, wonderful and educational experience for your group.

Nominations

The festival consists of two parts: A - public presentations; B - competition. Participating ensembles decide their participation format. Participants shall be young orchestras and choirs in both categories.

A) Public presentations
Participants - choirs, orchestras and other music ensembles (even non-traditional) - shall have one or two performances as required and will learn and rehearse and perform one joint composition with all the other participants.
B) Competition part
The orchestra competition shall have five categories a) brass/winds music orchestras, b) symphonic&string orchestras; c) jazz orchestras, d) folklore music (music or music+singing, e) pop and other. 
 
The choir competition shall have five categories a) mixed choirs, b) boys/young man choirs, c) girls choirs, d) children choirs and e) spiritual/gospel./jazz/pop. In the categories mixed choirs, boys/young man choirs, girls choirs and children choirs one composition from a Czech composer shall be compulsory.

Package price includes:

  • participation fee in young2021bohemia programme
  • three overnights in a hotel of your choice
  • three breakfasts
  • three dinners in a hotel
  • guided city tour of Prague
  • services of a local guide for all festival programme activities in English or German language
  • one free place for every 20 paying participants

Accommodation for students usually is  in four or three-bedded rooms. Some twin rooms also may be available.

The prices are valid provided that there are at least 60% of young people/students up to 26 years of age in a group.

The price does not include:

  • transportation. (Please note that organisers would be happy to arrange transportation to/from festival functions as per your requirements.)
